ANNIE'S ENDORSEMENTS

"Last year, Clerk John A. 'Jack' Cunningham complained bitterly that the November 2004 election had been poorly managed by the elections director whom he had hired. He accepted her resignation and handed the job to an old friend, David Bruun. Problem is, Bruun is a disbarred lawyer who served prison time for financial crimes. Cunningham stands by his old friend, but Cunningham's Democratic opponent, Annie D. Collins, says the hiring of Bruun shows poor judgement. She's right.

Collins, a former flight attendant and teacher from Batavia, is bright and enthusiastic. She says she is running to 'return a level of honor' to the clerk's office. She is endorsed."

Chicago Tribune - November 2, 2006

“Annie Collins will be a strong voice for taxpayers and consumers and the voters of Kane County.”

Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn

"The primary responsibility of any County Clerk's office in Illinois is very similar to that of our Secretary of State offices - customer service has to be foremost, along with honesty and integrity.

Annie Collins understands this - and that's why she'll be a great Kane County Clerk. I endorse her wholeheartedly."

Secretary of State Jesse White

"Annie Collins is my choice for Kane County Clerk. The Clerk’s office is a clearing house for information important to all Kane county residents, and I am confident that Annie will bring her expertise in emerging information systems to bear on the Clerk’s office.

With Annie as our county’s Clerk, we in Kane County will benefit from services that take the latest technology into account and we will have an official who is responsive to the needs of the citizens. The 21 st Century truly is becoming the Century of information, and the person charged with maintaining Kane County’s information is the Clerk.

It is therefore fitting that we elect a person who has spent the past several years advocating for increased access to the Internet for our poorest citizens, and has been honored as a woman committed to advancing equity and humanitarianism throughout the county and the state. That person is Annie Collins."

Linda Chapa LaVia
State Representative, 83rd District

"She has the energy, efficiency, and knowledge for the job."

Hollie Kissane

"She has been a local activist in our community for many, many years..." and is "a person of sensitivity and insightfulness [with] an appreciation for what is in the public good." Annie has "a flair of tenacity that, in public life, we can't get enough of..."

Annie is "here today with my best wishes and my blessing."
