Dear Friends:
First, and foremost, thank you for your support of my campaign efforts. Honestly, with the recent passing of my mom, your tireless backing was a godsend in helping me through a tough summer. It pushed me even harder to get our message of “Dedication, Accuracy & Integrity” out to the masses. It seems a large number of citizens, on both sides of the political fence, understood our story and took it to heart.
Unfortunately, I can’t give you a direct answer on whether I have conceded a loss at the polls yesterday. I can, however, concede on one point: once again, the voting process was impaired by an inept Kane County Clerk. See all the stories at the link below:

We are still investigating claims and are reviewing our options. Obviously, we’ll keep you up to date with any new info that may surface.
As a rather humorous (or sad) sidebar, please read this take on yesterday’s events:

Finally, please accept my congratulations for your hard work. It was your efforts that made our grass roots campaign work. We couldn’t have done any of this without your time and the strength of your beliefs in me.
I’m truly honored to have fought the good fight with you by my side.
Warmest Regards,
Annie
DO YOU WANT FOUR MORE YEARS OF THIS?

NO? THEN USE YOUR VOTE TO SAY SOMETHING.
ENSURE DEDICATION, ACCURACY & INTEGRITY!
This November 7th, you will have the opportunity to step forward and make an important change for the future of Kane County. You will have the choice to decide whether I am worthy to be your next Kane County Clerk.
For starters, I thought I'd give you a little of my history.
I have lived in Batavia with my husband and sons for over ten years and have strived to be an active, positive presence in the community. For the past five years, I've served on the Batavia Fireworks Committee, served as a volunteer coordinator for the Art In Your Eye Arts Festival, and am a current member and past President of the Batavia Jaycees. Each summer, I continue to try to encourage people to come to downtown Batavia on Friday evenings by running the Batavia Jaycees Cruise Nights.
On a larger scale, I've helped on the past Municipal Broadband referenda in the cities of Batavia, Geneva & St. Charles. My work there led to an appointment on the Governor's Broadband Deployment Council on which I still serve today.
All of which leads up to my run for this office.
My main goal in running for this position is to return a level of honor to the Kane County Clerk's office. With the recent election problems here in Kane County, I believe I'm the right person to restore that faith in the ideal that every vote actually does count. With the advent of electronic voting, a high level of personal integrity is just a core competency requirement for the job.
In addition, I believe we have a real opportunity to enhance customer service, as it pertains to vital records, via vastly improved online services.
My previous work has made it plainly apparent to me that working through the committee structure of the County Board and observing the ordinances laid out in the Kane County Code are two of the best ways to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency in government to the citizens of Kane County. Running "renegade" has its place, but not when it comes at the expense of the taxpayers.
In fact, my prior endeavors have help secure bi-partisan endorsements from the likes of:
Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn
Secretary of State Jesse white
State House Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia
Mayor Jeffrey Schielke, Batavia
Mayor Kevin Burns, Geneva
Mayor Marilyn Michelini, Montgomery
Kane County Board member Hollie Kissane
Kane County Board member Bonnie Kunkle
Former Batavia Police Chief Dennis Anderson
Alderman Dawn Vogelsberg, Geneva
Alderman Alan Wolff, Batavia
Association of Flight Attendants / CWA, Council 8 - Chicago
Painters Union DC 30
Elgin Trades Council
Geneva Professional Firefighter's Association - Local 4287
Young Democrats of Illinois
Young Women Democrats of Illinois
Chicago Tribune

leading up to the November 7th election, your support becomes all the more
critical. I hope I can count on you and look forward to seeing you and earning your support on
November 7th, 2006.
Warm Regards,
Annie
